Need proxies exclusively for your use?
Private proxies: max 2 users/IP. Dedicated: single user. Available as datacenter or ISP proxies.
Proxy use cases by task
Web scraping
Distribute public web scraping across many IPs. Shared datacenter proxies suit high-volume crawlers, while ISP proxies bypass blocks.
Price monitoring
Test product prices and inventory using local IPs. Fixed private proxies let you compare conditions daily with consistent IPs.
Check SEO rankings
Distribute requests across target-market IPs to reliably capture localized rankings and ads.
Social media account operations
Assigning one IP per account keeps login locations consistent. Dedicated ISP proxies, being on residential ISP ranges, are widely used for account operations.
Ad Check
Verify if ads appear correctly by country and if landing pages load properly using local IPs. Manage multiple country IPs under one account.
What is a SOCKS5 proxy?
SOCKS5 proxies act as relay servers between your program and the destination server. Instead of connecting directly, browsers, crawlers, bots, and testing tools connect to the proxy server first, which then connects to the destination using its own IP. This allows you to check websites with IPs from multiple countries or distribute requests across multiple IPs, as the destination server sees the proxy's IP, not your computer's.
SOCKS5 (version 5 of the SOCKS protocol) transparently relays nearly all TCP connections - not just web (HTTP) but also database links, email clients, game clients, and SSH. It doesn't interpret or modify content, making it ideal for developer tools and automation libraries, which natively support socks5:// addresses with username/password auth.
All Socks5Proxy proxies support both SOCKS5 and HTTP. Each line has separate ports, enabling HTTP for crawlers and SOCKS5 for other tools on the same IP.
What’s the difference between SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies?
Both methods route your requests through proxy IPs. The difference lies in the connection handling level. HTTP proxies understand web requests, reading and forwarding HTTP info like addresses and headers. HTTPS sites create encrypted tunnels via CONNECT, hiding content from proxies. SOCKS5 proxies handle any TCP connection, making them usable beyond just web traffic.
Practical selection tips: For Python requests, Scrapy, or general web scraping, HTTP proxies offer simplest setup. For browser automation, multi-protocol applications, or remote DNS lookups, SOCKS5 works better. Socks5Proxy provides both protocols per plan, eliminating upfront commitment to one type.
| Item | HTTP Proxy | SOCKS5 proxy |
|---|---|---|
| Handled Connections | HTTP, HTTPS(CONNECT) | All TCP Connections |
| Primary use cases | Web crawling, API calls, price monitoring | Browser automation, bots, database/SSH connections |
| Address Format | http://user:pass@ip:port | socks5://user:pass@ip:port |
| DNS Lookup | Handled by proxy server | Proxy server handles resolution with socks5h |
| Provided by Socks5Proxy | Included in All Plans | Included in All Plans |
What’s the difference between datacenter and ISP proxies?
Datacenter proxies use IP ranges owned by cloud and hosting companies. With servers directly connected to high-speed networks, they deliver fast and stable responses while offering the most IPs per dollar. Ideal for high-volume requests where speed matters - like web scraping public data, checking search rankings, or price comparisons. Socks5Proxy's datacenter IPs cover 47 countries.
ISP proxies (static residential proxies) use IPs registered to residential ISPs, appearing as home users while physically hosted in datacenters for speed. The IPs remain unchanged during your subscription, ideal for accounts requiring persistent login locations (e-commerce, social media). Available in 19 countries.
| Compare | Datacenter proxies | ISP Proxy (Static Residential) |
|---|---|---|
| IP registered company | Cloud and Hosting Companies | Residential internet provider |
| Speed | Very Fast | Fast |
| How websites see you | Server access | Residential user access |
| Recommended tasks | Large-Scale Crawling, Ranking Checks, Testing | Account operation, e-commerce, social media |
| Starting price (1 IP, monthly) | Shared $0.0179 | Shared $0.1800 |
How do I choose between shared, private, and dedicated proxies?
Proxies come in three types: Shared (max 3 users/IP, lowest cost), Private (max 2 users), and Dedicated (single user). Fewer users mean less interference from others' activities.
Choose based on your task: Shared proxies work best for high-volume scraping where IP reputation matters less. Private plans suit logins or clean-IP-required tasks. Dedicated proxies are for long-term account binding.
- Shared datacenter: 100-100,000 IPs, 1TB bandwidth + 500 concurrent connections
- Shared ISP: 20-1,000 IPs, 250GB bandwidth + 500 concurrent connections
- Private/Dedicated: From 10 IPs, unlimited bandwidth/concurrency
| Type | Users per IP | Datacenter starting price | ISP starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared | Max 3 users | $0.0179 | $0.1800 |
| Private | Max 2 users | $0.4680 | $0.5850 |
| Dedicated | Single account only | $0.8400 | $1.51 |
How do I buy SOCKS5 proxies?
Purchasing involves four steps: Create an account token in your browser to open an account. The token starts with SPX- and is a long string - copy or save it as a .txt file. Next, top up your balance, select your product, IP count, country, and duration (1 or 12 months), and pay with your balance.
After payment, the IP, port, username, and password appear immediately on the My Proxies screen in the dashboard. Download the list in formats like ip:port:user:pass, user:pass@ip:port, socks5:// address, http:// address, CSV, or via the REST API.
- Step 1: Create and securely store your account token
- Step 2: Top up balance (12 payment methods + bonuses based on amount)
- Step 3: Select product, number of IPs, country, and duration, then pay from your balance
- Step 4: Get your proxy list from the dashboard or API and connect immediately
How to implement proxies in code?
Most languages/tools accept proxy addresses directly. Python requests uses the proxies parameter, Node.js uses proxy agents, cURL needs just -x. Browser automation tools (Selenium/Puppeteer/Playwright) accept proxy addresses during launch, while Scrapy supports per-request proxies or rotating middleware.
Choose between two authentication methods: username and password in the address works everywhere, while IP authorization allows connections from up to 10 IPv4 addresses stored in the dashboard without a password. IP authorization is convenient for browsers or older programs where entering passwords is difficult.
curl -x socks5h://user:pass@203.0.113.10:1080 https://api.ipify.orgimport requests
proxy = "http://user:pass@203.0.113.10:8080"
r = requests.get("https://api.ipify.org", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=20)
print(r.text)How Is Proxy Pricing Calculated?
Pricing is based on the monthly cost per IP multiplied by the number of IPs and duration. Even for the same product, the more IPs you purchase, the lower the unit price becomes - the largest plan can be up to 40% cheaper per IP than the smallest plan. Paying for 12 months upfront gives you an additional 30% discount on the monthly rate.
Starting unit price (1 IP, monthly basis): Shared datacenter from $0.0179, Private datacenter from $0.4680, Dedicated datacenter from $0.8400, Shared ISP from $0.1800, Private ISP from $0.5850, Dedicated ISP from $1.51. The smallest shared datacenter plan includes 100 IPs. See the pricing page for unit rates and totals by IP count.
Payments are deducted from your pre-topped-up balance. Top-ups of $100+ get a 20% bonus, $500+ get 35%, and $5,000+ get 50%, so frequent users benefit from larger top-ups to reduce costs.
Which country’s proxies should I choose?
Key criteria: Target website and desired results. For US store prices/search results, use US IPs. For regional EU site views, choose German/UK/French IPs matching target countries - proximity also improves speed.
Socks5Proxy operates in 50 countries with 586,685 total IPs. Popular locations like US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, and Singapore offer both datacenter and ISP options. For large-scale crawling without country targeting, our shared datacenter mixed-country pools distribute requests evenly.
| Tasks | Recommended Locations |
|---|---|
| US e-commerce/search result collection | USA (New York, Ashburn, Dallas, etc.) |
| Europe price/ad verification | Germany, UK, France, Netherlands |
| Asia Service Testing | Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea |
| Large-scale country-agnostic crawling | Shared datacenter mixed pool |
Are proxies safe and legal?
Proxies are standard tools for internet companies, data analysts, security/marketing teams - used daily for gathering public data, geo-testing services, or ad audits.
Socks5Proxy permits only legal use. Spam, attacks, fraud, and illegal content are prohibited per ToS. HTTPS traffic remains encrypted end-to-end; proxy servers cannot read it. Accounts store only token hashes and IP hashes for security.
How to choose a good proxy provider?
When comparing proxy providers, look beyond the price tag - evaluate actual usage conditions. Checking these factors helps you quickly find the right provider for your needs.
- Protocol: Whether SOCKS5 and HTTP are provided together at no extra cost
- Pricing Structure: Per-IP rates, bulk discounts, and annual discounts are transparent.
- User limit per IP: shared, private, or dedicated options
- Location: Check available countries/cities and ISP proxy coverage
- Dev tools: Supported list formats, REST API, IP authorization
- Activation speed: Whether lists appear immediately after payment
- Payments and Refunds: Are payment methods diverse, and are unused plans refunded to your balance?
How to Automate Tasks with Proxy Lists and API?
Teams using many proxies benefit from API automation. Socks5Proxy's REST API (base URL: https://socks5proxy.io/api/v1) returns balance, active plans, and proxy lists in JSON with Authorization: Bearer headers.
The most common method is to download the desired format list via /proxies/download when the crawler starts, load it into memory, and select a different line for each request. For tasks in different countries, filter the list by country and protocol via /proxies to get only the needed lines. New plans are immediately added to the API list, allowing you to increase IP count without changing task code.
API keys are generated in the dashboard and shown only once. If compromised, create a new key - old keys are instantly disabled. Combine with IP authorization for extra security (unregistered IPs can't connect).
- GET /account: Balance and account token
- GET /plans: Active plans and remaining period
- GET /proxies: JSON list filtered by country/protocol
- GET /proxies/download: Text list in preferred format (ip:port:user:pass etc)
Who is Socks5Proxy for?
Socks5Proxy is built for code-driven teams: data teams running crawlers, marketing teams tracking search rankings and prices daily, QA teams testing apps/websites across countries, and sellers managing store/social accounts.
View IP lists, remaining periods, balance, and payment history at a glance in the dashboard. Integrate the same data via API into internal systems. Start small and scale IPs as workloads grow to align costs with project size.
